Altenew Academy – Easy Ink Blending

Hello and thank you for joining me today.  I am so excited to share the projects with you that I made from the Altenew Academy class Easy Ink Blending.  I find ink blending as a beautiful technique that also really relaxes me!  I also love all of the different looks you can achieve by making simple changes.  You will see this as I move through my Altenew classes.  I apologize again for the lighting, I am still adjusting to my camera — a work in progress!

I started my cards by using some Neenah Solar White 80 lb cardstock.  I used the Altenew Arctic and Altenew Limestone inks to do my blending.  I used the Altenew Cube Builder Stencil.  You will notice in the pictures that I have achieved three different backgrounds.  This was all done with one stencil.  The card in the front is what the stencil is created to do.  You can see what appears to be cubes.  The two cards in the foreground I have moved the stencil around to make diamonds.  One has the diamonds overlapping and the other has them lined up.  Almost like a harlequin background.  Once I had my backgrounds complete I chose the Altenew Big World stamp and die set to create my globes.  I stamped with Caribbean Sky, Frayed Leaf, and  Forest Glades Altenew crisp inks. I cut out my globes using the coordinating die.  I cut out the globe holder and inked them up with Altenew Embossing Ink.  I then used two of my favorite embossing powders, Altenew’s Antique Gold and Silver.  I love the detail that you see in the base of the globe.  My husband likes the silver best, but I really am on a gold kick lately, lol!  I then stamped the sentiment with phrases from the same stamp set.  As these were created to give to our local grocery store and the pharmacy I combined two of the sentiments.  The original said, “You make my” and I turned it into “You make the” with a little masking of the stamp.  This was stamped with Altenew Jet Black ink.
Thank you for joining me today.  Try to look at your supplies in a different way.  Grab a stencil, ink blending brush, inks and see what you create.  Think outside the box, how can you change your stencil?
I am so happy you are part of my creative journey.  Until next time, happy crafting!
