Hello and welcome back! Sorry, it has been an extended absence on my part, there have been some developments in my personal life. I am so happy to be here today to share my creation for this amazing class.
This card has to be one of my favorites in my journey so far.
This card employs three levels of layers. The leaves are inset into the navy blue cardstock which is on a low profile foam tape. The flowers are adhered using the Scotch foam tape so many of us use.
To begin with I need to get something out of the way…a confession of sorts, I am addicted to this stamp set! Antique Roses was one of my first floral layering image stamp sets. Since then, it is a go-to set for me. I even have two sets of dies for this set as I usually mass produce flowers and leaves with it. I have found a great organization system for my many die cuts that I would like to share with you. I found these on Amazon and they are made by M design. These were created for storage of tea bags, they work great for that too, by the way! I have two also in my kitchen.
To begin the construction of this card, I laid out my leaves on the navy cardstock. This will show me where I need to die cut.
Then I will simply apply the leaves into the die-cut spaces directly onto a white card base. I then used low profile foam tape to apply the navy layer over the leaves. The flowers were then popped up using foam tape by Scotch. That is how I achieved my variation in height.
For my flowers, I used four of my favorite families Sweet Dreams, Pocketful of Sunshine, Enchanted Garden, and Tea Party. The leaves used one of my all-time favorite combinations Green Fields. I love, love, love a touch of gold. I added this by using the Handwritten Hello die set and Gold Foil Cardstock. For my card, I trimmed off the additional flower portion that was hanging over the edge of the cardstock. You could leave this on and either use a larger envelope or hand carry this stunning card.
Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope you take some time for yourself and mass-produce an element to use in your crafting. I love to turn on the television and zone out making beautiful things. In this ever-changing stressful world in which we live, we all need some relaxing downtime and crafting is a huge component of that for me. I’m so grateful to be able to share my healthy habit with you.
Until next time, stay safe and happy crafting.
