Altenew Academy – Polychromatic

Good day, and thank you for sharing your time with me.  Today we are going to be looking at colors.  While polychromatic focuses on more than one color, in this class there is a lesson on monochromatic.  This is the lesson that spoke with me.  I decided to use various shades of grey in my project today.

I used Altenew Pale Grey cardstock for my card front.  I proceeded to stamp the flower and leaf images from the Beautiful Day stamp set.  I used masking to put leaves behind my flowers.  I stamped these images in one of my two favorite grey inks, Limestone.  My plan was to then stamp the layer in Altenew embossing ink.  My thought process was this would darken the cardstock, I was wrong!  So, planning on the fly.  Can you call that planning??  I decided I would then use the embossing ink and emboss the second layer with Altenew Translucent Pearl embossing powder.  This is becoming one of my most used embossing powders, next to the Antique Gold that is!  Once I did the first flower, I was in love with the outcome.  I proceeded to fill in the second layer of all the flowers.  Once this was done, I then stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in my second favorite grey ink, Pure Graphite.

This is a card that I will definitely be mass-producing.  It can be used for so many occasions, from a masculine birthday card to a sympathy card.  I love card designs that can be so versatile.

I hope my creation has given you some inspiration to look at focusing on one color and doing a monochromatic card design.
Thank you so much for sharing your day with me.  Until next time, happy crafting!
