Altenew Educators “Favorite Old/New Altenew Stamp” Blog Hop and Linky Party + Giveaway

Hello everyone! I was so excited when we were told the theme of this blog hop. It reminded me of what the word Altenew means. “Alt” translates into “old” in German, and thus “Alt-e-new” represents the juxtaposition of classical and contemporary designs. If you don’t know the story of Altenew, check it out here!

I decided I wanted to combine my favorites old AND new! One of my first stamp sets I purchased by Altenew is still one of my favorites, Antique Roses. When choosing my inks I decided to also pick inks that were old/new favorites. Among my new favorites are the Northern Shore and Martian Terrain families. My old favorite, I am known for…the amazing Rock Collection.

I stamped my florals and leaves onto Neenah Solar White 80# card stock. I used the coordinating dies to cut out my images.

While I was die-cutting my florals and leaves I also die-cut the Cozy Flannel cover die twice from Moonrock card stock. I layered these together and adhered using Altenew Glue Tape Pen, one of my favorite Altenew tools!

I then stamped a sentiment from Darling Rose stamp set onto a die-cut from Featured Sentiments die set using Obsidian Pigment ink. I heat set this with Crystal Clear embossing powder. I think that just adds the extra touch to a card.

I started laying out all of my die-cut pieces and found something was missing. I turned to a couple more of my favorites. I used Antique Silver metallic ink spray to alter the Creative Cutouts: Nested Wreaths. This was the perfect touch!!! I layered these behind the florals, putting them into a triangular pattern. Not sure why the eye loves triangles and groups of three, but who am I to challenge that??

Finally, I applied my sentiment, and my center rose with foam adhesive behind it.
