I’m so excited to share the projects I created with you. Of course, Altenew has outdone themselves, AGAIN! I am usually able to pick my favorites right away and I couldn’t this time – it was all my favorite!

I have two journal pages and four cards!! I just couldn’t stop creating with this amazing release. Let me show you what I mean!

My son and his girlfriend took me to Acadia National Park a few Sunday’s ago. We went into Bar Harbor and enjoyed the town before the tourists descend!

I started with Pale Gray card stock and cut it to 4.25 x 8.50 (in.). I didn’t want to waste any of this gorgeous paper so I cut it at 4.25 and then used the leftover piece on the facing journal page. As you may guess, I keep my journal pages pretty simple. If there are too many things my eye gets overwhelmed. I used two pieces of ephemera from the Bitty Bits pack. I am absolutely obsessed with the simple black florals. I still have two I am guarding — I need to buy another pack so I will use them! Do you guys do the same thing?

I adhered everything flat to the page with my Glue Tape. I used my Fine Liner 01 to document the location of my photos. For my roller date stamp I used my favorite Pure Graphite. I love how gray compliments everything. Some time black is simply too harsh. At this point it was a tad too simple, even for me! Antique Silver metallic ink spray to the rescue. Just a few splatters and it was complete.

This journal page was a very similar process and layout. I used Pale Gray card stock again for my page bases. I had to bring out the gold to mark the occasion! Celebrating Altenew turning 7!! Some of the educators sent our photo to the management team to show our love ❤️. I put an arrow Sweethearts wood veneers to show where I was in the group. Both of my tags came from the Pink Posy ephemera pack. I used A LOT of my gold glitter tape. I layered some onto Neenah Solar White 80# card stock and then die-cut with Bold Numerals. My journaling was done with the 01 Fine Liner. Again, I stamped my roller date stamp with Pure Graphite crisp Dye ink.

For this card, I started with Spicy Yogurt card stock. I tried using Neenah Solar White 80# card stock, but it was way too bright. The Spicy Yogurt was perfect! I cut down a sheet of patterned paper to 3 x 5.25 (in). I chose this gorgeous floral from the Pink Posy ephemera pack as my focal image. I used foam adhesive to give a little extra interest to the die-cut. I covered the back of a piece of Gold Foil card stock with double-sided adhesive and die-cut “thanks” from Signature Words set. To finish the card I used three of the Red Cosmos enamel dots.

This is another card using mainly the ephemera packs. These are absolutely jammed full of crafty goodness! I changed this card up due to the dark color of the leaves I chose. I used Moon rock card stock as my card base. I absolutely love the gray fibers in the card stock!! The floral image came from the Bitty Bits set, the leaves and “love” came from the Pink Posy set. There were no “loose” leaf images in the set, so I cut apart another floral cluster and used only the leaves. I stamped the word “YOU” from Simple Sentiments 2 with Pure Graphite ink. To finish the card, I used three enamel dots from the Rock Collection set.

Out of all the projects I created, this is my favorite! It came to me right in that sweet spot as you are falling asleep — and I was fortunate enough to remember it the next day. On the back of the paper pad it looked like a quilt to me with all the little squares. So, I made a quilt out of them. I trimmed out all 12 squares from the back of the 6×6 paper pad. I adhered them down with a little glue tape to a piece of Moon rock card stock and made sure I had my arrangement how I wanted it. If I were doing this card again, I would have glued the squares down and let it dry completely before moving on. However, it still worked! I used the amazing Dotted Swirls Debossing die to add the additional detail. I had to squeeze in liquid glue in some spots and it came out the debossing in some areas. Hindsight, lol! You know how it is when you are in those creative moments — you don’t always think logically! I used Simple Sentiments 2 again to stamp a sentiment with Obsidian Pigment ink and trimmed it down. I added foam tape behind and centered.

My final card I am seriously proud of! I’m not big into tearing paper, but I did on this card. It’s hard to see on the screen, but in real life you can see the deckle edge I used. Okay, so I still didn’t tear the paper — I’m working up to it :).

When I had the strips arranged on the card front, it was overwhelming to my eye. What is the way to fix that — vellum! As I was enclosing the front panel I contemplated doing a shaker, but didn’t. It would have been super, super easy — just add in sequins! I die cut the birthday die from Neenah Solar White 80# card stock. I used masking tape to hold the die-cut in place and ink blended Red Cosmos onto the sentiment. I used the crisp dye inks, but you could also use the mixed media inks for a beautiful result. The birthday greetings balloon die was right next to my sentiment in my die storage – it seemed meant to be! I die-cut two from Gold Foil card stock and one from vellum. The vellum added a nice break in-between the two gold balloons. I used my metallic thread to create the balloon strings. The thread was tied around the balloon base and glued to the back of the sentiment. I die-cut three additional “happy birthday” sentiments to add dimension and put foam tape behind the balloons.
