Altenew 8”x11” Majestic Bouquet Stamp Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in Total Prizes)

Hello everyone and thank you for stopping by! You should have arrived here from Teresa Litchfield’s blog. If you haven’t started at the beginning, head on over to Altenew and begin your amazing creative journey!

As you know, Altenew are trendsetters! This release is no different!! Majestic Bouquet is a phenomenally large, 8 1/2 x 11 sized layering stamp set. I also LOVE how many great sentiments they were able to add to this! Honestly, I always look at the sentiments first. What do you look at first when you get a new stamp set?

Make a huge statement with this 8″ x 11″ stamp set!

This is our first-ever stamp set in our largest stamp size category. We hope it inspires you to create projects that are bigger, bolder, and drop-dead gorgeous!

The set features two beautiful layering flowers illustrated in a loosely painted style, plus a collection of leaves. The matching flowers and leaves from the Majestic Bloom 3D Embossing Folder perfectly coordinate in size and will allow you to take your gorgeous flower to the next level by giving it extra dimension!

This is a 8″ x 11″ clear stamp set containing 41 stamps made in the USA from high-quality photopolymer.

My first project I am excited to share with you is the simpler of the two. I absolutely LOVE to pull a simple image from a set and create an elegant card. I started with Embossing Ink and Antique Gold embossing powder. I chose the three cluster leaf image and turned it in different directions as I stamped it. I was able to fit the image together nicely. When I create cards, I always seem to create on the left side as a dominant side. It took a conscious effort to focus on the right side, but I love the outcome. I definitely hope to do this more in the future — it’s hard to get out of our “normal” got-to’s.

Once the images were heat set, it was still a little too simple. Splatter was the answer — isn’t it frequently?? I used a combination of Pure White, Antique Gold, Antique Silver, and Iridescent. The panel was left to dry overnight, just to be sure!

My sentiment was stamped with Obsidian Pigment ink and heat set with Crystal Clear embossing powder.

I love how simple and elegant this card turned out. This would be a great card for mass production.

For this card I knew I wanted to do some no-line coloring with my Artist Markers (Sea Shore, Tropical Forest, Buttercream, and Warm Sunshine).

To begin, I stamped the gorgeous large floral with Limestone Crisp Dye ink. I then stamped this image an additional time onto Masking Paper. I cut this out and layered over my floral before stamping the three leaves in the set. Once this was complete I was able to remove my mask and begin the coloring. For me, I love how this is the same floral, but it looks different than the stamped image. This really extends the life and longevity of your stamps in my opinion.

Once the floral and leaves were colored, I contemplated what to do next. I tried adding embellishments (enamel dots and sequins) and even pictured some splatter. In the end, I restrained myself to just stamp the sentiments in Obsidian Pigment ink and called it complete!

This will absolutely be a card I will duplicate. I have been enjoying working with my Artist Markers so much!! I did struggle a bit in using them to my satisfaction in the beginning. Some of my fellow educators were able to give some tips and now….SO HAPPY!! I have found my style with them. This community we are in are so willing to help and give tips. I love that! I never want to stop learning and improving.

  1. What a clever and original way to use this large set. I like to see ways to use stamp sets in different ways and these cards are great. It can be intimidating for beginner or mid-level crafters to think we have to cover the entire card with a large stamp set. Your cards show us how this set can be versatile, but still beautiful. Thank you!

  2. Love the deep rich tones of the second card, but my favorite is the first. Love the simplicity and I’ll bet it was fun just splattering away!
