Altenew Educators “Anything But A Card” Blog Hop and Linky Party + Giveaway
Hello everyone! Some of the Altenew Educators have come together to share projects with you that aren’t cards! I decided to work on another page in my travelers journal.
My gran-kitty, Rosie, just celebrated her gotcha day! Ryan and Jules were out of town, so Meme (me) had to celebrate with her. I had even purchased her a fun hat to mark the occasion. The hat stayed on for about 2.3 seconds — I have a montage of photos as it goes from her head to the window seat. If only she understood how cute she is in hats!
I started with Pale Gray card stock cut to 4.125 x 8.25, and a piece of patterned paper from Dreamy Sunset cut to 6 x 4.125. I knew I wanted to use the Celebrate Us and Celebrate Today sets. The sentiment was absolutely perfect for the occasion!
I stamped the Celebrate Us outline in Pure Graphite ink. For my floral, I used Icy Water and Winter Lake from the Northern Shore ink family. For my leaves, I used Minty Mint and the floral center is Buttercream. It added the perfect touch to my floral, and tied into the patterned paper. I mounted my photo onto another piece of paper from the Dreamy Sunset paper pack.
I placed my florals and trimmed off the overhang. I was able to use the cut-off piece on my layout. I love when there is no waste from your floral! My sentiment and date were stamped with Pure Graphite ink. I love using this ink when black seems to overbearing.
I thought I was done at this point, but it seemed to be missing something. I tried enamel dots, but it didn’t seem right. I tried sequins and they were perfect! I added three clusters of three sequins to adhere to the rule of three.
