Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Fashion Monger Dahlia Outline Stamp Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello everyone and thank you so much for stopping by today. I am super excited to share with you the new member of the Altenew Paint-A-Flower family, Fashion Monger Dahlia!! This is such a beautiful set, with gorgeous sentiments. Before we get to the fun, let’s make sure you are in the right place if you are on the blog hop. You should have arrived from Nenette‘s Blog. If you did not, there is a blog hop list below. You can also head back to the Altenew Card Blog to find your way.

I absolutely love the PAF series of sets from Altenew because of their versatility. There are so many mediums you can use to color in your florals.

I chose to do something that is out of the ordinary for me. I was very happy with how the project turned out. I love when a mental plan comes together for a beautiful project!

I started by stamping my large floral image onto Spicy Yogurt card stock with embossing ink. Platinum embossing powder was used to heat emboss the image.

Using a piece of Neenah Solar White 80# card stock I chose three of my ink sprays. I went with Frosty Pink, Sunkissed and Warm Sunshine. I didn’t try to overlap them, I was generally careful about where I sprayed. I say “generally” because I did not take the time to mask anything off on the card stock. I let this dry – once dry, I heat embossed (with embossing ink)the large floral onto the sprayed card stock with Platinum embossing powder.

I used a circle die to cut three circles from my ink sprayed piece. My goal was to get primarily the floral, but leave enough space to allow the eye to read it correctly. I then applied my circles to my Spicy Yogurt panel into place. This was another project that had a slight puzzle feel to it. I do love to do jigsaw puzzles!!

My sentiment was kept very simple, I stamped with Obsidian pigment ink a sentiment that came with the set. I love that I was able to use a few different techniques, but overall kept a subtle, simple card.
