Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Primrose Blossom Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in total prizes)

Hello everyone! I am excited to have you here to celebrate the newest addition fo the Craft-A-Flower family!! Before we start this crafty party, let’s make sure you are in the correct place. You should have arrived from Reiko Tsuchida‘s blog. If you have gotten lost on your crafty journey, head back to the Altenew Card Blog to find your bearings 😀

I am so excited to share this card with you! We all have projects that start with not really know where we are going (or you know, life!). So, I started by making flowers. My thought process was the flowers would tell the story and tie the project together! Since I knew the flowers I was creating I had to come up with a color scheme. Lately, I have been drawn to super bright colors. I grabbed two of my favorite color families – Warm & Cozy and of course, Rock Collection! With the release of the mini blending brushes I have been on a blending bonanza — these brushes are phenomenal!! I started by die-cutting all of the pieces in the Primrose Blossom set from Neenah Classic Crest 80# card stock. I put masking tape on the back of the die cuts to allow for enjoyable blending without coloring fingers! I started with my lightest color (Sunkissed – Firebrick) for the florals; the leaves were the opposite (Industrial Diamond – Limestone). Once the pieces were blended I hit the quickly with my heat tool. They were given additional time to dry overnight. You want that gorgeous color to soak into your card stock — and I love the vibrancy I achieved!

Once my florals were done, I started pondering my background. I decided pretty quickly on the amazing Diamond Frame cover die from a recent release. I die cut this twice from Navy card stock. I placed adhesive sheets on the back of the card stock before running my die through. The adhesive sheets keep it so super simple! Pull on piece of backing and adhere!! The florals were the star of the show, so I kept the panel Navy as well.

I really love how Altenew is including word dies in with our CAF more frequently. I definitely wanted to use the hello. I think out of all the sentiments, it is really my go to — you can’t go wrong with hello! You can use the inside of your card to pull the occasion in. Hello is a great lead in! In my mind, I could see this die in the amazing Dazzling Diamonds glitter card stock. When it was die-cut, voila! I was so happy :).

How do I get my own Craft-A-Flower: Primrose Blossom?
