Altenew All Things Handmade Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for joining me today. If you are on the blog hop, you should have arrived from the blog of Agnieszka Malyszek. If not, head back to the Altenew Card Blog for a complete blog hop list.

This set was the one I was most excited about from this release! I absolutely adore all of the illustrations of our most used tools. When I saw the paintbrush I knew I wanted to create a wreath with the image and color the tips in a rainbow of color. I used a stamp positioner to stamp the image as straight as possible. I colored the paintbrushes to look like the amazing brushes from Altenew – the new Gold from the Must have gel pen set was the perfect finishing touch.

Artist Markers: Rock Collection, Ruby Red, Coral Berry, Orange Cream, Autumn Blaze, Deep Iris, Lavender Fields, Lagoon, Emerald, Warm Sunshine, Maple Yellow, Parrot, and Olive.

For this card, I used the single paint tube image in a line of gorgeous rainbow along the left-hand side of the panel. The same colors of artist marker were used on this panel as the last. Do you guys enjoy creating your own coloring projects — I know I love it! I would love to hear your answer in the comment section! For myself, it is so fun to design a layout and see the progress as it gets colored in. And you guys know how I feel about rainbows!

My second and third cards show the beautiful new Garden Delights set. My sentiments are from the You Are Everything stamp set embossed with gold embossing powder. The enamel dots are from the Sea Shore set. To create interest in the background I used the Woven Basket 3D embossing folder. I adore the 3D embossing folders as they add super fast dimension to a project.

Floral: Morning Mist, Volcano Lake, Teal Cave, Mango Smoothie, Misty Moor, Marshland, Sea Forest

This card is likely one of, if not my favorite created for this release. I adore the brightness and shine on this card. I really had been struggling with foiling, but a new machine changed my crafty world!

My florals were extras I had created for the previous card. I used Orange Cream and Autumn Blaze for the leaves. To create my background I used the splatter hot foil plate with gold foil — you guys know my feelings on gold and shiny — love, love, love! I arranged my florals on the front card panel and tucked in a sentiment from the set. If you haven’t tried stamping extras — try it next time you craft! It is so easy to pair them up with other supplies for a quick card!

My final card for this release ended up completely different than I started — do you guys have that happen? This began as a soft journal page and ended on a bright A2 card, as you can imagine there was a bit of a journey.

I began with stamping the large image from Quaint Blooms with embossing ink (and Pure White embossing powder) onto adhesive backed vellum. I decided to fussy cut these out — they were super simple to follow the lines. I placed the cluster at the bottom of a piece of the new Alcohol Ink Background patterned paper, trimming off the excess and applying it to the top left. The sentiment came from the You Matter die set. “So Proud of” and ”You” were cut from additional pieces of Alcohol Ink Background patterned paper. This cardstock is absolutely gorgeous! I love that I can get the look of this technique without doing it — Maine in the winter is too cold to open windows for proper ventilation. I am super sensitive to the fumes from the technique. Finally, I cut the shadow to ”you” from Gilded glitter cardstock.

  2. The last card is my favorite! It’s very polished looking. I especially love the use of the vellum over the alcohol ink background essentially muting the tones and allowing the flowers to shine. Extremely tasteful; well done.
