Altenew Dreamy Bouquet Fabric Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)
Hello everyone! Thank you for joining me on this amazing historical crafty day 😊. Altenew is introducing fabric!! I have to tell you that it is SUPER hard to cut into this fabric as it is silky smooth and GORGEOUS! You should have arrived from the blog of Arjita Singh if you are following the hop. If you have gotten a little turned around, head back to the Altenew Card Blog to begin at the beginning.
I ended up deciding to make a little pillow (10×10) to keep in my office for my “extra” chair. I really wanted to make a bag/purse, but the pattern called for exactly the amount of fabric I had — which made me SUPER nervous! Measuring is the enemy for me. The old adage is measure twice, cut once. Well, this girl measures 20 times, cuts once and cuts wrong!
I will be purchasing a couple of these bundles to make the bag/purse as I am in love with this release! I cut squares two x two before sewing the squares together indifferent patterns. Then I cut out two sections 3 x 11 adding one to each side of my middle strip of 2×2 squares. For the back of my project, I used fabric from my stash with a light gray/white pattern. I didn’t want to “waste” fabric on the back of my project. I created a small pocket as well on the back I could put my phone in. Once the front sections were sewn together I turned the project right side out and stuffed the pillow with high loft polyfil. I have to admit that I used liquid stitch to close the small edge of the pillow. Hand stitching is not something I am great at — my mom usually does the hand stitching!
I know these were just released, but I am already beyond excited to see the next release of fabric! Altenew are always trendsetters, and this release is no different. I am so excited for you all to get this fabric home — I can’t wait to see what you create!
