Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Zinnia Magellan Rose Outline Stamp Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in Total Prizes)

Hello everyone and welcome to the hop! It is such an honor to be on the welcoming committee for Zinnia Magellan Rose. This will be one of my top 10 Paint-A-Flower stamp sets, for sure! For my project, I started with a piece of A2 Watercolor cardstock and proceeded to heat set the image with Pure White embossing powder after using embossing ink to stamp the image. I have really been enjoying working with my 24 Pan set from Altenew, so I decided to work with this set again. I chose my detailed watercolor brushes from Altenew as well. These brushes are awesome as they hold a lot of water. This is good because I can decide how much water I would like when I am painting. On my flower, I used a combination of Cherry Blossom and Pocketful of Sunshine. My leaves only used Tropical Forest. These have been my favorite colors from this pan set! I started by adding water to the petal I was coloring and then dropped in some of the Cherry Blossom pigment. I would do a similar process with Pocketful of Sunshine, sometimes adding it to petals that already had Cherry Blossom. If a petal had too much of the Cherry Blossom pigment I would simply add in some of the Pocketful of Sunshine to lighten the color. Have you tried the 24 pan watercolor set? If you haven’t, get it out!! I know I was intimidated to get this particular set out because they are artist-grade watercolors. I was worried I would ruin them, lol! I can assure you — I was being 100% silly! I have really enjoyed working with these particular watercolors.

For my sentiment, I chose an oldie, but a goodie – Script Words. I die-cut the “hugs” sentiment with a piece of glitter card from the Gilded set. My sentiment was adhered flat to the panel. This is a great card to send, as it will not require extra postage. However, the Gilded card lets the recipient know how special they are 🙂
