Altenew Celebrating Parents Card Drive Blog Hop & Giveaway 2022

Hello everyone, and welcome to this extra-special blog hop! Today we are hoppin’ to let you guys know about an amazing card drive that Altenew sponsors every year. Altenew collects cards to be given out at nursing homes and shelters to let them know they are special. We all know how amazing it is to see that A2-sized envelope in our mailboxes, right? Let’s share the Altenew love with the world! You should have arrived from my dear friend, Ann Taylor’s blog.

I have been dying to use the new Meadow Burst stencil set and thought it would create a gorgeous card. You could use this stencil for mum, dad, hubby, or wife — just change the colors you use to fit the person you intend to give the card to. I was still in my “yellow” state of mind, lol! I chose a different yellow this time, Butternut and Pumpkin Pie. For the green, I used Misty Moor and Marshland. The blues used are Winter Lake and Arctic Mountain. Because it was a card for my mum, I wanted to make it extra special! I used the Bold Caps Alphabet to die-cut from my panel with MUM. I used my Crafters Alignment and Cutting Mat to help ensure I got it as straight as I could. Once the letters were cut from the front panel, I added Instant Dimension Foam Tape to the back and adhered my letters into place. Make sure not to mix up your two M’s! I almost did, but caught it! To finish the card I stamped a sub-sentiment “I admire you” from Sentiment Strips with Arctic Mountain. I added thin 3D foam squares to the back of this to give a little dimension, but I did not want it to be the same height as MUM.

My brother and I have laughed over the years. We have never called my mother “MOM” she has always been “MUM”. Not sure why or where we picked that up, but it just is 🙂

I am proud to have donated cards every year since I have been with Altenew, as a customer, and as an educator. There are many things I love about Altenew as a company, but one of my favorite things is how much they give back. It’s an honor and a privilege to be able to join in to spread joy and love to others.

Don’t forget to stop by the Altenew Card Blog to see amazing projects, a full hop list, and more information on this amazing card drive.

Altenew will donate $1 with every order of the below stamp sets from 3/6/2021 until 5/31/2021 to the Food Bank of Central New York to support seniors in need. We have created a special Parent’s Card Drive Collection. (These are linked in clickable links below)
