Altenew May 2022 Dreams Come True Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)
Hello everyone and thank you so much for joining me today. You should have started at the Altenew Card Blog and arrived here from the blog of Laurie Willison.
I was über excited to see this stencil in the release! All Things A is one of my favorite stamp sets and I LOVE that we now have a stencil to add color, quickly! You guys know how much I adore projects that come together quickly.
To begin, I die-cut a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock with the A die. I laid the die back into the negative and taped it in place. I like doing it this way as it gives me definite lines to line up my stencil. My flowers were blended with Autumn Blaze and my leaves with Tide Blue. I left the rest of the area white. I love that you can use all of the stencils or some of them to create varied looks. For my panel I chose a sentiment from the stamp set, stamped with Obsidian pigment ink, and heat set with Crystal Clear embossing powder. I then embossed the Spicy Yogurt panel with the Garden Harmony 3D EF.
The final step was to adhere the “A” after applying Instant Dimension Foam Tape.
This was another set I was super excited to see. I just adore the Be Kind die set, and now we have sentiments in Always Be Kind that coordinate perfectly! I know this will be frequently used in upcoming projects.
As many of you know I am passionate (aka obsessed) with no-line ink blending. I love how this looks with no lines!
Flower: Pocketful of Sunshine — Stem/Leaves: Natures Wonders
To finish my project I stamped the “be kind” phrase and heat set with Antique Gold embossing powder. I then die-cut the die from Gilded glitter cardstock. I adhered the Gilded die-cut over the Antique Gold embossing powder. It is a very subtle touch, but in real life it is very noticeable.
If you have the Altenew App you may have seen this as an early release! Wispy Joy is the name — and I love how wispy these florals are! My florals were stamped and then fussy cut, yup, fussy cut! I really wanted to add extra dimension and interest to my background. So, I stamped the leaves onto the panel before I embossed with Dotty Circles 3D embossing folder. Beautiful Inside Add-On was used for my sentiments. Both were stamped with Obsidian pigment ink, heat set with Crystal Clear embossing powder before being die-cut with Featured Sentiments. The florals were added with Instant Dimension Foam Tape, while the sentiments were added flat.
Florals: Peach Perfect, Canyon Clay, Burnt Red, Polar Bear, Eastern Sky, Persian Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Yellow Ochre
Leaves: Forest Glades, and Firefly
Hello Friend was the first stamp set I HAD to use when I opened the guest design box. I really wanted to use all of the “hello” phrases. I decided to use Warm & Cozy to stamp all the circles in Hello Friend. I didn’t have the die, so I use a 1 3/8″ circle punch to cut them out.
I knew I wanted to keep the background super simple to allow the gorgeous orange tones to take the show! I embossed a piece of Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 80# cardstock with Checkered Diamonds 3D EF. Before card assembly I stamped a sub-sentiment with Obsidian pigment ink and heat set with Crystal Clear embossing powder. I trimmed the sentiment down with my paper trimmer and added thin 3D foam squares to the back. I added Instant Dimension Foam Tape to all of the circles and laid them across my panel in a diagonal fashion.
