Altenew July 2022 Marvelous Monthly Series Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Hello, and thank you for joining me today. If you are following the blog hop, you should’ve begun at the Altenew Card Blog and arrived here from the awesome Reiko Tsuchida.

Artist markers were the theme of this release for me! I started with the new Build-A-Garden: Tulips and Friends. I colored the image using the below-listed artist markers. Next, I fussy cut the image. The die is an add-on die available for purchase. I used a piece of patterned paper from Enjoy the Ride for my card panel that I splattered with Antique Silver metallic ink spray. The sentiment is from the stamp set and stamped with Obsidian pigment ink.

Tulips: Pocketful of Sunshine, Tropical Forest, and Enchanted Garden.

I created another project with this set so that I could use the add-on die that was released this month.

For this project, I decided to ink blend with the stencils. I used Northern Shore, Natures Wonders, and Pocketful of Sunshine. Once I was done using the stencils, I used the die to cut the image out. I added foam tape to the back of the image and to a panel (4 x 5.25) from the Altenew Blends paper pack. My card is an A2 Navy cardstock panel.

For my Craft-A-Flower: Garden Rose, I used Sea Shore gradient cardstock, Forest Glades, and Dark Chocolate. I added a bit of Dazzling Diamonds cardstock to one of the layers for an extra touch. I had to trim the Forest Glades and Dark Chocolate pieces to fit on top of the die-cut. I wanted it to mimic an actual Rose Bush. I used the Garden Harmony 3D embossing folder with Spicy Yogurt cardstock to finish my project. I love the added touch that paper always brings to a project.

Next on our crafty adventure is the adorable Mini Delight: Tropical Greetings set. The bird was cut from the Altenew Blends paper pack. The beak and feet were stamped with Obsidian pigment ink. I used the Areca Palm 3D embossing folder with Forest Glades cardstock before cutting with a circle from the Halftone Nesting Circle Dies. My cute bird needed a place to sit, so I free-hand trimmed a piece of Dark Chocolate cardstock. On an A2 panel, I stamped “hello” from the set and adhered the circle with Instant Dimension Foam Tape.

This card began from my leftover pile! The watercolor stripes panel had been sitting in my extras for a while, so I was excited to use it finally! I stamped the image with Jet Black ink and colored it with my artist markers. I highly recommend lining your stamp in your die to ensure it is perfectly aligned for cutting once you have colored the image. I used Pocketful of Sunshine, Coffee Break, and Tropical Forest for my image. Once the image was colored, I die-cut it and placed it on my front panel. I trimmed off the bits that were hanging off before adhering them to the arrangement. I stamped a sentiment onto the panel with Obsidian pigment ink to finish the project.

For the final set of the month, I stamped the image from China Rose with embossing ink and heat set with Rose Gold embossing powder. I used Mango Smoothie and Cotton Candy Watercolor Brush markers to color my floral. I used Lime, Just Green, and Citrus Burst for the leaves. I trimmed the image close to the embossed line. I loved that I could trim the flowers to use as a set or singularly. I used the Angled Mosaic 3D embossing folder with Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock.

My sentiment was stamped with embossing ink onto Jet Black cardstock and heat set with Pure White embossing powder. Finally, everything was adhered to the panel with foam tape.

In this release, Altenew has now released an add-on for the Build-A-Garden: Magnificent Branch. This was another set that I recommend laying the stamp in the die before you stamp to ensure you get everything lined up correctly. I used Nature Wonders, Northern Shore, Martian Terrain, and Mango Smoothie for the project. Then, I used the new coordinating die to cut my image. Woodgrain Bark cardstock with the deckle die from Mix and Match Frames was used to cut my panel. I added foam to the back of the images and the Woodgrain Bark panels before adhering to an A2 Spicy Yogurt panel. I am so happy there is a die for this set. This set is one of my favorites, as you get two cards out of one stamping session.
