Altenew August 2022 Bold & Beautiful Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in Total Prizes!)

Hello everyone, and thank you for stopping by. I am so honored to be sharing this awesome release with you. If you are on the blog hop, you should have begun at the Altenew Card Blog and Michelle Short’s blog.

I was very excited about Happy Flowers! I created two different projects! I wanted to show off this beautiful set and its versatility. There could be a third card coming 🙂

The background is the Scallops Cover Die cut from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock. I used the fantastic double-sided adhesive sheets on the back for super duper easy layering.

The sentiment is from the game-changing new set, One-Go Birthday Greetings Stamp & Die Set. The second I opened the package, I wanted to stamp this and heat set it in every color of ink and embossing powder I own. Unfortunately, that would take a bit! I went with my favorite tried and true Rose Gold embossing powder for Altenew. I love how this set has awesome sentiments and shaped banners! I LOVE a shaped banner, especially since I cannot cut a straight line to save my crafty soul!

Flowers: Polar Bear, Icy Water, Sand Dunes, and Rocky Shore

Leaves: Butternut and Pumpkin Pie

I began by stamping the Linear Spiral background with Sand Dunes ink. I chose a sentiment from Happy Flowers, stamped with Obsidian Pigment Ink and heat set with Crystal Clear embossing powder. I love the elegant touch this simple step adds to a project. All of the elements were adhered flat except for the front flower.

Flowers: Pastel Sunrise, Canyon Clay, Sand Dunes, and Rocky Shore

Leaves: Minty Mint & Firefly

Don’t you love a great background stamp? The first question often is, “which stamp set should I use to go with this?” Instead, I wanted to let the Linear Spiral set be the star of this card. I stamped the image onto a piece of Moonrock cardstock with Limestone ink. The sentiment is from this fantastic set — and doesn’t it just say it all?? Altenew rocks, just sayin’! The sentiment was stamped with Obsidian pigment ink and heat set with Crystal Clear embossing powder.

For the final project, I used my alcohol markers to do no-line coloring with the Arch of Flowers set. I began by stamping the image with Limestone ink onto a piece of Parchment cardstock.

Flowers: Pocketful of Sunshine, Coffee Break

Leaves: Tropical Forest

Blue Flowers: Cool Summer Night

When the image was colored, I used the coordinating die to cut the image. I heat embossed with Pure White embossing powder onto a leftover piece of Parchment cardstock “thank you” from the set.

For my background, I used the Deck Planks 3D embossing folder. I embossed both Parchment and Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock. I trimmed 1/2″ off the Neenah A2 panel before adhering centered over the parchment panel.
