Altenew Get Inky with Alcohol Inks Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in Total Prizes!)
Hello everyone, and thank you so much for stopping by! I am excited to share my love of Altenew’s Alcohol Inks today. For the blog hop, you should have begun at the Altenew Card Blog and arrived from the blog of the lovely Rosie Neustaedter.
For my project, I chose to focus on two sets of Altenew Alcohol Inks: Sugarplums and Fall Harvest. I began with glitter yupo paper for my base. I added each of the shades across my panels. After applying the alcohol ink, I would use a blower tool to move the ink on my panel. As needed, I added in a blending solution to effortlessly have my colors blend. I used the newest Craft-A-Flower Open Peony when the panels were completely dry. I cut multiples of some of the leaf dies.
I ran a piece of Spicy Yogurt cardstock in my Organic Linen 3D embossing folder through my die-cut machine. Finally, I arranged my pieces onto my panel.
I have been creating projects lately without sentiments. Sometimes I enjoy sending a notecard to a friend. My sentiment will be evident in the personal note I write on the inside. Other times, I wait until I am about to send the card, so I am aware of the specific occasion. Too many times, I have been caught needing a birthday card, and the sentiment is for a thank you. When you guys create cards, I hope you will allow some to shine without a sentiment!

Hi Bridget! This is gorgeous! I’ve never heard of glitter yupo paper! How fantastic that must be! I really LOVE the leaves a lot! I think that would be a fantastic card on it’s own! The peony adds such a beautiful flower to this card! Thank you for sharing!
So very pretty!! What a great idea to make a bunch of cards up, and add the sentiment later as needed!
Beautiful way to enhance the open faced peony set! Creative!
Very classy! Love the use of color. It gives a kind of oriental, calm feeling. I agree with the use of sentiments; leaving the card open for many possible uses.

I myself have a hard time using ink for backgrounds. I love these and hope to do it myself one day.
Very very pretty and what a good idea. Never in my mind about alcohol ink blending until after following these talented artists. Now my project is shifted to alcohol ink blending. Very encouraging artists.
You mentioned GLITTER Yupo paper – your card looks so lovely I may have to find some of that!
Really Beautiful card!!!
Very lovely card, Bridget, Love your design and details, too. So inspirational. Thank you for sharing.
Very pretty. So unique.
So beautiful. I like the background too.
Love the card. Fabulous colors and the linen background is gorgeous. So nice and subtle. I keep a lot of my cards without a sentiment on the front so I can add later or keep simple and include my handwritten note inside. Great job. Love that flower too. Thanks for the inspiration.
Lovely, imaginative card! I love seeing petals and leaves made from alcohol inked paper. I have the products and am so inspired to “get inky”!
