Altenew – A Note of Thanks

Hello everyone!  Thank you for sharing some time out of your day with me today.  Last month I reached my goal of 31 cards in 31 days!  I actually don’t know how many I made because I like to make multiples.  When you have all of your supplies out, why not make extra?  And with all the beautiful Altenew supplies, how can you stop creating??

This card was a labor of love, no pun intended with all the hearts!  I started this morning with the Watercolor Doodles stamp set.  I wanted to use lighter-toned inks:  Arctic, Cotton Candy, Industrial Diamond, Lavender Fields, Mango Smoothie, Minty Mint, and Peach Parfait.  One thing I love about watercolor stamp sets is you can be messy!  Your layering does not have to be perfect and no one will ever know.  I splattered the card front with Cotton Candy, Industrial Diamond, Lavender Fields, and Warm Sunshine Metallic ink spray.  I decided to die-cut my panel with the Radial Hearts cover die.  I applied my die-cut panel to the front of a Neenah #110 Classic Crest card base.  Then, I proceeded to apply foam squares to the back of all the pieces that were cut.  I put on Working Girl (who doesn’t love 80’s movies?!?!) and plugged away.  It took me about an hour.  If I were to repeat this card I would definitely use fun foam behind the hearts.  While this card was a large investment of time, I love the final result.

The foam squares I used are low-profile, so it is a very subtle effect.  The Radial Hearts cover die leaves a circular area in the middle.  I tried stamping a sentiment there but did not like the effect.  I decided my Gold Foil card stock would add the perfect touch of elegance!  I die-cut it using my Halftone Nesting Heart Dies.  I applied two layers of foam tape to have it sit above the other hearts.  I amazed myself by using something from a previous stamping.  I used the Warm Hugs stamp set the other day and stamped a bunch of extra sentiments.  I put them in a bowl I have on my desk to use later… and I actually did!!  If I’m honest I now have a drawer, cup, and bowl full of extra die-cuts.  I need to sit down one day and make some cards with all of those beautiful cuts.  I applied one layer of foam tape to the back of the sentiment strip and adhered it to the card base. The sentiment strip was stamped in my favorite Pure Graphite ink.
Thank you again for stopping by to see my creation.  I’m not sure if I will do another 30 cards in 30 days or not….maybe, lol!
Until next time, stay safe and happy crafting!
