Altenew Academy – Color Blending with Artist Markers

Hello friends and thank you for joining me.  I am excited to share a couple cards with you today from this class.  As you can see from my cards, I chose to color images that were pretty detailed.  I really wanted to work on my skills with my Altenew Artist Markers.  I will list below what markers were used on each card.

I chose the beautiful Whimsical Flowers and Quotes for my first card.  I have always loved the detail in this image.  Altenew Artist Marker used for this card:  Rose Petal, Warm and Cozy, Sea Shore, Glacier Caves, Red Sunset, Shades of Purple, Green Fields and Tropical Forest.  I used the Arctic marker from the Glacier Caves family to color the background of my image.  I die-cut the Altenew Simply Friend die from Altenew Gold Foil  card stock.
For this card, once the panel was colored I decided to turn it into a shaker card – one of my favorite cards to make.  I stamped the beautiful Altenew Moroccan Mosaic image with Altenew Permanent Black ink. I used Altenew Artist Markers:  Caramel Toffee, Warm Sunshine, Mango Smoothie, Warm Gray, Sea Shore and Glacier Caves.  I used Altenew Mega Thanks die to cut the panel.  Remember when you do this to add in the bits from the letters to the base of your card.  This will make it easier on the eye to read.  You want to adhere these bits flat to the card so they donโ€™t interfere with the shaker.  I added in Altenew sequins in Satin White, Satin Gold, and Antique Gold. I added two layer of foam tape to the back to give the sequins plenty of space to shake!

With the positive part of the die-cut that I had leftover I decided to make another card.  I had made a background using Altenew Feathery stencil.  I applied embossing paste to the stencil and then splattered with Altenew Antique Gold metallic spray.  I die-cut another Mega Thanks from Altenew Gold Foil card stock  and layered it behind the colored image.

I always love when I can get two cards for one!  I never throw out any die-cuts I have left over because you never know when you can use them.  I also take time to make backgrounds with my embossing paste so they are ready to go when I need one.  I like to take advantage of having supplies out.
I hope these cards encourage you to look at your stamps to see what you could color.  Color an image in different colors to get a drastically different look.  This allows you to stretch your supplies.
Thank you for joining me today.  I appreciate you sharing your time with me.
Until next time, be safe, be kind, and happy crafting.
