Altenew Seasonal Textures Stand-alone Embossing Folder Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)
Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful time on this amazing blog hop. You should have arrived from Sandhya Iyer‘s blog.
The moment I saw Pink Perfection Camellia 3D Embossing Folder, I knew I had to use it! I decided to break the packaging on my gorgeous mixed media inks and put them to use!! I used Arctic, Frayed Leaf, Frosty Pink, and Buttercream to create this entire background.
The background (Arctic), and leaves (Frayed Leaf) were colored using the inks and blending brushes. For my florals, I started by covering two in Buttercream and two in Frosty Pink. I soon realized if I added these colors in reverse I could achieve a gorgeous peachy tone.
It was difficult to choose a sentiment — I wanted something that wouldn’t detract from the gorgeous background. I decided to go with Waterbrush Hello. An oldie, but definitely one that I reach for again and again. I used Vellum behind Dazzling Diamonds glitter card stock to define the sentiment separate from my panel. Since there is no shadow for the Waterbrush Hello die, I simply offset the two.
The next folder that really stole my heart was Organic Stones 3D Embossing Folder. I can see this being a staple in my crafty stash. I really loved the tones I achieved on the prior panel, so I carried it forward onto my next panel. I started at one of the panel with Buttercream, the other with Frosty pink and met in the middle. I love what a delicate look you can achieve. The mixed media inks blend onto cardstock like an absolute DREAM! They are just so luscious and creamy in texture – they were made to blend.
I chose the stamp/die set Hello & Hugs for my sentiment. I love the versatility of this set — another oldie, but goodie! I really loved the look of the Dazzling Diamonds glitter cardstock with my color combo, so I used it again for this sentiment. I stamped my sentiment and trimmed down into a small strip. “Hello” was adhered flat to the panel, foam tape was added to the sentiment strip and layered over the word.
