Altenew Rustic Charm Stamp/Die/Stencils/Embossing Folders/Washi Tape/Brush Marker/Fine Mister Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)
Are you participating in the bog hop for a chance to win a gift card? If you are, make sure you started at the Altenew Card Blog! You should have arrived from Maryam Perez‘s blog.
For this release, I am changing things up a little. Because there is SO much inspiration on this amazing hop, I am going to show you a few projects and then release some in the following week. I want to spread the crafty inspiration a little further! Let me know in the comments if you guys are fans of this idea or if you like the old way of sharing ALL the projects at once. There are some releases I make 10 projects — I know all the craftiness can be overwhelming sometimes. I also love to hear what projects you all like and what techniques you want to see more of.
Without further adieu, the projects for today!
I began by stamping out elements from the Home Sweet Home stamp set onto A2 watercolor cardstock from Altenew. This is my ALL-TIME favorite watercolor paper. It has the properties of watercolor cardstock with the look of regular cardstock, there is not a lot of texture to it. Platinum embossing powder was used for embossing as I felt it would βblendβ well with the colors I wanted to use. If Iβd used black it would have given really defined edges and for this project it was not the look I wanted. Watercolor Brush Markers used: Desert Night, Paper Bag, Lime, Mountain Mist, Ultraviolet, Lava Rock, Jet Black, Espresso, Evening Gray, Citrus Burst, and Warm Sunshine. It was fun to use colors I donβt often reach for. I colored this while sitting in front of the television. I find Iβm more relaxed and willing to try new colors and combinations.
Once the watercolor was completed, the images were die-cut. I pulled a piece of cardstock from the new Gel Printing: Soft Washes 6×6 paper pack. It gave the perfect summer backdrop to my home. It reminded me of summer nights when my husband and I would go for walks with dusk upon us. I chose one of the many amazing sentiment of the set and stamped with Obsidian pigment ink. I will keep this set on my desk and use it frequently for the amazing sentiments in this set. Sentiments have my heart β₯οΈ
One of the wonderful things about Altenew (and there are too many to name) is the coordination they have among their products. I started by heat embossing one of the branch images from True Friends stamp set. I used the coordinating stencil to add Mountain Mist to my leaves. I was able to add depth at the base of the leaves and blend to a lighter color at the top. Since I have coordinating products, I pulled Mountain Mist from the Sea Shore gradient paper pack and die-cut Linear Crossroads. I layered the branch on top of the die-cut, all of this was layered onto Moonrock cardstock. It needed just a little something else, so I pulled out the coordinating enamel dots. This was the ABSOLUTE perfect touch to finish off the project. I even love there are little hearts included β it perfectly went with my sentiment from Home Sweet Home.
This ended up being one of my favorite projects. At different stages, I almost gave up β so happy I didnβt.
I began with black watercolor cardstock and ran this through with the Sunflower Bundle 3D embossing folder. I pulled out my metallic watercolors to paint my panel. The sunflowers were painted with Citrine and Bronze; Leaves – Prasiolite and Jade. The flower centers I really wanted to be black. In order to achieve this I used a combination of Jet Black and Iridescent Ink Sprays. In order to get the White paint splatters I used the 24 pan watercolor set. This white is opaque and will not show other colors through.
I pulled out Bold Greetings for βhelloβ and die-cut with Gilded glitter cardstock. With all the metallic shine, I had to have glitter!
