Hello and welcome! Thank you for sharing time out of your day with me. I am super excited about the cards I have to share with you today. There are almost step-by-step photos of my process. I even have a video explaining my process with you and we will make a card together.
I used Arctic, Caribbean Sky, Persian Blue, and Sapphire to create my ink blended backgrounds. I love how using the same supplies you can get different looks. It’s a wonderful way to stretch your supplies.
After stamping the trees with inks from the Green Valley family, Firefly, Grass Field, Shadow Creek, and Mountain Pine I then used Altenew Embossing Ink and Altenew Translucent Pearl embossing powder. This has become one of my favorites, don’t worry Antique Gold is still my all-time favorite.
Once the trees were embossed, I decided to use the Tiny Bubbles stencil to simulate snow on my trees. I used Altenew Embossing Paste to add dimension.
The trees were then dipped back into the Translucent Pearl embossing powder to add that extra detail.
I absolutely LOVE the dimension and shine I achieved with all of the embossing.
I then die-cut all of my stamped images with my Mini Blossom.
Next, I used the deer image from Modern Deer for an additional element on my card. Above, I am showing you how I use a piece of transparency to line up the stamps on my project before stamping.
I used the same process on these die-cuts that I did above. I stamped the deer in Hazelnut and the layer in Dark Chocolate. I then used the embossing ink and Translucent Pearl to add that extra shine.
This final card I used the same process as above. I had some additional colored embossing paste from another project I was working on. I used the Trellis stencil to apply the embossing paste. I was super happy with how it came out. I love that it’s not “perfect”. I think it adds character. I also added an enamel heart from the Red Cosmos collection.
I hope seeing all of these cards encourages you to not only create with your embossing supplies but to check out the Altenew Academy class Impressive Heat Embossing.
Until next time, stay safe, be kind and happy crafting!
