Altenew Craft Your Life Project Kit: Garden Rose Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by on this awesome blog hop! Before we get to the cheery & bright project I have to share with you today, let’s make sure you are in the right spot for the hop. You should have arrived from the awesome Rosie Neustaedter‘s blog. If you have not, it may be a good idea to head back to the beginning (it’s a very good place to start) at the Altenew Card Blog. Now that we have taken care of the business, let’s get down to the crafty goodness!

Some days I am able to get past the urge to color everything with rainbow colors — and others not so much, lol! Today, I embraced the gorgeous rainbow prism set from Altenew. I also wanted to focus on one of the stencils you got in the kit. I know personally, stencils like these have tripped me up in the past creatively. I have additional ideas in a class coming up to use these stencils, so stay tuned.

I started by lining up the final stripe with the lower left hand of my card panel (A2). I began with Ruby Red and worked my way down through the rainbow. I was happy Ruby Red got a full stripe — it was a little cheated, just peeking out in the corner! I thought about adding florals, but again really wanted to give you guys ideas on these stencils in particular. I decided to create “hello” using the same ink colors. For this I started with Orange Cream because I didn’t want the Ruby Red stripe and then Ruby Red to start the “hello”.

Once I had ink blended it all, I taped down everything and I sprayed the “hello” with Iridescent Shimmer spray through the stencil. A few drops got loose, but I really love this card! You also could add one of the coordinating sentiments that are included with the stamp set, but I was happy with my card at this point. I pulled out my tub of enamel dots, but….shockingly, restrained myself. I think enamel dots would look super on this card also.

Let me know in the comments — do you struggle with shaped and/or word stencils? Are you looking for ideas? I like to know so that I can create projects that will inspire you.

How can I get a Craft Your Life Project Kit: Garden Rose?

Nothing is prettier than a garden rose! Enjoy our Craft Your Life Project Kit, an exciting monthly package that is sure to get the creative juices flowing! Featuring a 6×8 stamp set, coordinating die set, as well as a stencil and embossing folder to fit the theme, this project kit has almost everything you need to start crafting. Just add ink and cardstock, and you’ll be good to go! This kit features a stamp including two beautifully drawn roses with three layers each and four leaf outlines. Leave these unfilled, or add color with the stencil set! One stencil acts as a coloring/mask stencil, one includes bold stripes, and the third contains three words that go with the sentiments in the stamp set. Finally, add texture with the 3D embossing folder for a stunning project!
