Altenew Academy – With A Twist

Hello everyone and thank you for joining me today.  I am super, super excited about this card today.  This was definitely a creation of love!  It was definitely an investment of time, but SO worth it.  A card like this lets the recipient know how special they are.  They can see the time and love you put into it.

Right away, the beautiful Altenew Antique Gold Metallic Shimmer Spray DEMANDS your attention… and I love that!  That is why it is one of my most loved supplies in my office.  The lovely Lydia has nicknamed me the “Golden Girl” for my love of all Altenew Gold!!  In life, I am a white gold person, so no one is shocked more than me, lol! Okay, back to the card.  I bet looking at it you are wondering what the twist is?

There is a front flap that can hide a special message!  If you attached the front flap in a different manner you could remove it and use it as a bookmark.  In theory, you could just trim it off the top to use as a bookmark the way it is currently constructed.
To stamp the beautiful roses, I used my all-time favorite Antique Roses stamp and die set.  I also used my most favorite ink families:  Sweet Dreams, Pocketful of Sunshine, Tea Party, Enchanted Garden and Grass Fields for the leaves.  I then took a piece of cardstock that is 2.5″ X 8.5″ and scored it at 5.5″.  The lip was tucked in between the card base and the gorgeous gold sprayed card front.

As shown in the picture above, I then covered the back of the panel with strong double-sided adhesive.  I prefer to use scor-tape for projects that need extremely strong hold.  After this was done I carefully removed the layer of the backing at the top of the front of the card and lined it up on the base.  After it was applied I stamped another sentiment inside the card.  This sentiment comes from the Build A Flower:  Begonia.  I love using this sentiment and it was definitely fitting for this card!  That is one of the greatest things I love about Altenew’s stamp sets are the sentiments.  Not only are the images gorgeous, but the sentiments find a way to say something I can’t many times.  Have you all been in that position before?

Thank you so much for sharing time out of your day with me today.  I have so many more exciting projects coming up, not only on my AECP (Altenew Educator Certification Program) but my own personal projects.
The classes that are part of the AECP are also available for individual purchase for anyone.  If you see a project and you would like to see where the inspiration or techniques came from then simply head on over to Altenew and check it out.
Altenew is also currently offering virtual workshops where you can sign up (for a nominal cost or free with a purchase of a creativity kit) and create with an instructor from the Altenew family.  I have been signed up for every class to date!  They are a wonderful chance to learn a new skill or to practice the ones you already have.
Until next time, stay safe and happy crafting!
