Hello and thank you for spending a few moments of your day with me. Today I’m excited to share the project I created for the Seasonal Scene Building Class.
I love this card for many reasons, but one is how the stamp set was used. This is Baby Zoo by Altenew. Using it in this manner shows how you can make your stamps work for you! You do not have to use them for only the intended purpose. There are elephants, lions and as you can see giraffes. I fell in love with their faces and had to use them. I stamped the giraffes and colored them in with my Copic markers. I had not yet purchased the Altenew Artist Markers. I also used the same Copics to make a ground for my giraffes to stand on. For the background, I used my Distress Oxide Inks as I had not used them in awhile. I used Scattered Straw, Carved Pumpkin, Picked Raspberry, Blueprint Sketch, and Black Soot. I used the star from this set to emboss into the darkest color to simulate when you can see the stars, but the sky still has all of those beautiful colors. I stamped the moon with inks from the Warm Gray family. I loved using Moon Rock on my moon! After I stamped the layers I took a blending tool and blended a light layer of Moon Rock over the top until I was happy with the appearance. I added dimension by using foam tape on the Mini Moon stamped image and layered two of my giraffes. I thought the sentiment was fitting as it could be applied to many situations, especially the one we are in now with COVID. I hope this card shows you how you can use your stamp set for many different purposes, not just the main intended use.
Thank you for sharing your day. Until next time, stay healthy and safe….happy crafting!
