Altenew May 2022 Lovely in Lace Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Hello everyone, and thank you so much for joining me today. You should have started at the Altenew Card Blog and arrived here from the blog of Linda Westfall

This was a project I could see in my head before it began — don’t you just love those? I embossed a piece of 80# Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock with the new Hosta 3D embossing folder. I used my woodless colored pencils to add detail with Mangrove Root and Moss. There was still a fair bit of white cardstock showing through, so I decided to use my Large Blending Tool to add Moss across the entire panel. There are still a few areas that pop with white as a highlight. I wanted my sentiment to POP off this background. I used Hello Friend to stamp a sentiment and sub-sentiment. Ciao was stamped with Fresh Lemon, and the banner sentiment was stamped with Obsidian. I added Instant Dimension Foam Tape to Ciao to complete my project and adhered the banner flat.

I am super, uber excited by this new embossing folder/stencil set. I hope we see more of these in the future from Altenew. You get the floral image AND the lacy background all in one pass with this 3D embossing folder. Cool, huh? I used Sweet Dreams and Tropical Forest to add color to my image with my Mini Ink Blending Tools for my floral. My sentiment is from the Bold Greetings die set with Tim Holtz Idea-ology paper. Wouldn’t it be great if Altenew had metallic cardstock someday? You never know — they are always surprising us with new and exciting things!

This is the favorite of my projects for the release. I know, shocking considering there is a holographic rainbow with glitter paper up next! This project is also the simplest of the bunch for this release. I sprayed the top of the embossing folder with Frosty Pink and the bottom with Ruby Red before running it through with a piece of 80# Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock. The sprays wash off easily — you just have to run them under warm water and then set them aside to dry.

Head on over to your next stop Ann Taylor.
